Super Green Detox Smoothie
I bet your liver is feeling reaaaal good after New Year's. New year means new health goals (for most people at least), but whether or not you're striving for a healthier lifestyle sometimes your body needs a little help after a long night of debauchery.
Enter the Super Green Detox Smoothie! It's full of all the goods that'll get you feeling back to yourself in no time. This isn't just for detoxing, though. This smoothie is excellent for when you're under the weather and could use a little boost. It's also just delicious all around and would be great for an everyday breakfast.
This smoothie includes ginger root, which is extremely useful in de-bloating but also settling an upset stomach. Very often, upset stomachs can be soothed by a glass of ginger ale but if you're discomfort is deriving from bloat then adding carbonation (bubbles) into your belly will not help lessen those symptoms.
There's a secret ingredient in this recipe, too! It might seem a little odd but trust me, it's actually very useful in de-bloating and detoxifying. It's parsley! Parsley is a magical herb/plant that you probably most commonly have eaten when garnished on pasta or other Italian foods. It's a very bright, fresh, unique flavor that surprisingly pairs well with almost everything. The parsley and apple combination in this smoothie creates a vibrant and sweet flavor.
I love making this smoothie when I want breakfast but I don't want anything heavy or just need a healthy kickstart to my day. It's very simple and doesn't require any special dietary powders or ingredients. Sometimes that's all you need to reset and recharge your body.
Blend everything together and you're ready to go!
